Limitations? Tidus knew the rules of the game like the back of his hand, but he wasn’t sure if he could really recall any sort of regulations about there being some sort of limitations as to what you could actually do to other players. Hell, he’d seen people perform moves that actually poisoned others in the process. The game was brutal.
“Pretty sure the only rules are not to kill someone. Man, they do come close, though.”
"Sometimes it comes down to just bein’ the quickest guy, y’know? Nobody can hurt ya and take the ball away if they can’t catch ya!”
He took the ball from the other, tossing it up in the air, then catching it and spinning it on the tip of his index finger. He had a proud grin settle on his features, as he often did when he spoke about blitzball and his accomplishments.
"You’re lookin’ at the best in the business right here! Name’s Tidus. What’s your name, big guy?”
[ Snow might have been… more or less baffled at that, but it didn’t exactly show upon his expression. It was certainly interesting, let alone surprising to hear such a game like that existed– with it’s only rule being not to kill your opponents. It definitely sounded brutal and interesting to say the least.
He didn’t get the chance to say anything before Tidus, the name he had just introduced himself with, took the ball from him. There happened to be a smile cracking the line of his lips as he pointed a thumb in his own direction; it was his turn to introduce himself after all. ]
"The name’s Snow, Snow Villiers. I gotta say, it’s nice to meet someone who has the skills you claim to have. You should invite me to one of your games sometime– I’d love to see those skills in action!”
LIKE EVERY LINK I CLICKED ON ON YOUR SIDEBAR SENT ME TO MEDIGUARDS STUFF. i had to manually get to your ask s;fldkdsmg;sdjaldks. BUT LIKE I JUST WANTED TO BOTHER YOU ABOUT IT IN CASE OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING THAT PROBLEM YOU KNOW?
A gutsy game? What game could possibly be gutsier than blitzball? Tidus had yet to see one, that was for sure. He tried to imagine this game of dodgeball, but frowned at the thought that someone catching his pass would mean he was out. What kind of stupid rules were those?
It didn’t matter, though, because soon the other was asking about blitzball, so it was time to tell him just what the greatest sport ever created was all about.
”Well, in blitz, it’s a team sport so you need someone to be able to catch the ball. The idea’s to get the ball in any way ya can, and lemme tell ya—it’s not for the faint of heart.”
It also wasn’t good for those who couldn’t swim, either.
[ Considering Snow was in fact interested in this sport he had never heard about, he did his best to listen intently– what kind of hero would he be if he didn’t at least show a bit of curiosity in what the kid had to say? Not a very nice one, that’d be for sure. ]
“In anyway you can?”
[ That tidbit in the game’s explanation had him wondering, that was for certain– and he might have given that stubble of his a rub while he pondered the possibility. ]
“What do ya’ mean by that? Are you sayin’ in anyway, anyway…? Or are there limitations?”
Confusion was written all over the blitzer’s features as he studied the massive man in front of him. Did that guy work out or what?
Given from his reaction, though, the guy probably had no idea what blitzball was. Go figure.
”But no—! I mean blitzball! That’s what you’re holdin’ right now!”
“Dodgeball’s a gutsy sort of game. The concept is pretty much like whatcha’ did before I caught it– and if we were playin’, that’d mean you’re out!”
[ It might have showed that Snow’s knowledge on the subject was surprisingly high– the sport was an appreciated past time within the orphanage he was raised in, so one couldn’t blame him for expressing that particular intellect.
He could have– and might have felt an urge to continue with his explanation, but the kid cut him off before he could continue. It didn’t bother Snow, in fact, he was interested in what he had to say. ]
“Really? So this funny lookin’ ball is a blitzball, eh? How exactly do ya’ play?”
“Oooh! I dunno—looks like ya did just fine to me!” The blitzer grinned, obviously impressed by what he assumed was an amateur catching any shot he made. “D’ya play?!”
[ Although the kid’s enthusiasm might have been somewhat similar to his own on normal occasions, he had Snow blinking with evident confusion. ]
“Do I play what…?”
[ Those eyes of an icy hue dropped to the ball he had grasped in his hands. ]
“Dodge ball? I haven’t played it since the Sanctum Facility– if that’s what ya’ mean!”
